Steve Shantz

Steve Shantz haa been a “non-traditional” missionary with TWR since 1982 with 18 years spent in Europe, 10 years in his native Canada and the rest in the U.S. With a diploma from Conestoga College in Electronic Technology, Steve first worked in Research & Development. In the early 1990’s, he became “hooked” on IT/IS and kept up studies on the side to advance in the appropriate certifications for his work. Steve has served TWR’s CIO (Chief Information Officer) and thereby on the Global Executive Leadership team.  In 2016, Steve transistioned into a ministry leadership role as the Vice President for Latin America & the Caribbean. Being a 3rd culture kid having grown up in Latin America was helpful preparation for this role.

In 2021, Steve handed off his Latin America Responsibilities to Esteban Larrosa from Uruguay and moved into leading TWR's global Digital Media Ministry.

Steve is married to Barbara.  Their children are married, living in Canada. Aaron (& Shelley) are environmentally concerned believers who live and work in sustainable farming, forestry and animal husbandry; Jasmine (& Terence) are both ordained ministers of the Gospel in the Anglican tradition.
