Role Summary
Do you want to be involved in the missions community as they continue to reach billions with the Gospel? Do you have a servant's heart to help optimize a ministry's global phone communications?  We need someone like you to monitor our global PBX system - several local or cloud implementations of FreePBX - working with international staff to support their use of the phone system. You'd be overseeing projects to troubleshoot and upgrade where necessary. Invest your talents in an eternal Kingdom! 

Please note: This position is a supported/sponsored missionary role (not a direct hire opportunity), so you would develop a team of partners who provide financially for your full salary and benefits as a part of this role. We do provide training, resources, and coaching to help missionaries reach these financial support goals!

IT Phone Systems Specialist: Cary, North Carolina, USA

A TWR IT Phone System Specialist is responsible to support TWR’s global PBX system, consisting of several local or cloud implementations of FreePBX according to the goals and vision of the Director of Information Technology and Systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities: 

  • Support TWR’s global PBX installations
  • Support TWR staff in use of global phone system
  • Monitor phone equipment and recommend upgrades to IT/IS Director for budgeting and project planning
  • Deploy new or replacement PBX installations in remote offices as needed

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in computer support or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in PBX systems (especially helpful if DCAPP certified or proficient with Asterisk or FreePBX)
  • Proficient in the use of office productivity software MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams 
  • Proficient in Linux
  • Familiar with storage technologies
  • Experience in troubleshooting end user computer issues
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
