Numbers & Deuteronomy
Walk through Israel’s years in the wilderness to Moses’ final words, and learn what it means to trust, obey and remember God’s faithfulness.
The Mission 66 Study Guide for Numbers and Deuteronomy follows Israel through the wilderness and to the edge of the Promised Land. In Numbers, you’ll see the people counted and organized around the tabernacle, then watch their complaints, the report of the spies, Korah’s rebellion, the bronze serpent, Balaam and his donkey, and the new generation preparing to enter Canaan. In Deuteronomy, Moses looks back on God’s faithfulness and Israel’s failures, repeats the Ten Commandments, urges the people to love God with all their heart, and sets before them the choice between blessings and curses. The guide ends with Moses commissioning Joshua, blessing the tribes, and seeing the Promised Land from Mount Nebo.
Each of the 35 lessons pairs with the Mission 66 audio commentary hosted by John Mathews and Esther Sisulu, and includes a summary, questions, a reflection question, and a personal application. Themes of obedience, trusting God’s provision and timing, the danger of complaining and idolatry, justice and mercy, and remembering where our blessings come from run throughout, and an answer key at the back is included.
