Psalms 1-72
Explore Psalms 1-72, from praise and lament to confession and trust, and learn to bring everything to God in prayer.
The Mission 66 Study Guide for Psalms 1-72 invites you into the prayers and songs of Scripture. You’ll see the path of the righteous contrasted with the wicked in Psalm 1, hear God’s invitation to honor his King in Psalm 2, and walk through David’s cries in times of trouble, his confessions and hope in God’s mercy, and his songs of thanks and praise. Along the way you’ll marvel at God’s creation in Psalms 8 and 19, rest in the Lord as shepherd in Psalm 23, and explore the Messianic Psalm 22 and its link to Jesus’ suffering. Later lessons cover laments over betrayal, longing for God in hard times, the call for all nations to praise him, and prayers for just leaders.
Each of the 36 lessons pairs with the Mission 66 audio commentary hosted by John Mathews and Esther Sisulu, and includes a summary, questions, a reflection question, and a personal application. Themes of trust, honest prayer, forgiveness, justice, and gratitude run throughout, and an answer key at the back is included.
