Psalms 73-150
Journey from honest lament to joyful praise, and learn to trust God’s faithfulness, justice, and love in every season.
The Mission 66 Study Guide for Psalms 73-150 carries you through the second half of the Psalter, from honest questions to full-hearted praise. It begins with Psalm 73’s struggle over why the wicked seem to prosper, then moves through laments over Jerusalem, reflections on God’s faithfulness to Israel, and prayers for justice and mercy. Along the way you’ll explore God’s eternity and protection in Psalms 90-92, the joyful worship and pilgrim longing of Psalms 81 and 84, thanks for God’s gifts in Psalms 103-106, and the coming Messiah-King in Psalm 110. Later lessons cover the Egyptian Hallel, the long celebration of God’s word in Psalm 119, the pilgrim songs, psalms on family and faith, and Psalm 139’s reminder that God knows us fully. The guide ends with the closing songs of praise in Psalms 146-150.
Each of the 23 lessons pairs with the Mission 66 audio commentary hosted by John Mathews and Esther Sisulu, and includes a summary, questions, a reflection question, and a personal application. Themes of trust in hard times, remembering God’s faithfulness, justice, and gratitude run throughout, and an answer key at the back is included.
