For many years Peter and Susanna have had a heart for people who have never heard about Jesus.
About 20 years ago, Susanna heard at a youth event that there are tribes who specifically ask for missionaries to come to them and tell them about Jesus. However, there are too few missionaries, making it impossible to send someone to them. This deeply moved her, and from that moment on, she regularly prayed for people willing to go and also asked God if that is what he wanted for her. But God consistently confirmed her place in Germany, her home country. Even when Peter and Susanna got married, they repeatedly sought God’s direction for where he wanted to use them, and God continued to affirm their place in Germany.
Since they never again heard or read about such tribes asking for missionaries, they assumed that such tribes no longer existed. However, in 2024, they unexpectedly read that the need was still very much there. This reignited their prayers for people willing to share Jesus with unreached tribes. By that time, they had settled firmly in Germany — with their own home, a good job for Peter, a strong church community, and more.
God kept speaking to their hearts, leading them to the point of saying: it is important to be where God wants us to be. So, they were willing to leave everything behind and, with their two young boys, step into missions if that was God’s will.
Peter came across a position with TWR Bonaire, where an engineer was needed. In this role, Peter could use his profession and gifts to help spread God’s Word with the people of Latin America and the Caribbean. By God's grace, they plan to move to Bonaire in Summer 2025.
