Richard Thompson
Matthew 28:19 gives a command to: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Richard and Laura spent 24 years serving in the United States Army. Raising their four children and living in multiple locations across the US and in Europe, they built many relationships along the way. Discipleship became a big part of who they are and began in small group Bible studies.
It was during Richard’s last deployment, in 2017, when he was introduced to a discipleship class that changed his life −Every Man A Warrior (EMAW). After that deployment, Richard’s desire to disciple men grew − giving them the tools through EMAW to overcome strongholds, heal relationships with spouses and children, and become disciple-makers themselves. Richard and Laura believe the best way they can help women and families is to disciple men.
Richard and Laura were asked to join EMAW, a men’s ministry within the global media ministry of TWR, in the fall of 2025. He’ll serve as the Texas state director, facilitating statewide growth of men’s discipleship.
He and Laura now live in the Galveston, TX area and continue to disciple. Will you consider joining their prayer and financial partnership team so that more men can be raised up and equipped to be the leaders God designed them to be?
