Description
Role Summary
Have you wondered if your gifts in the technical field can be used to share the Gospel? They can! Our offices in the Africa region need someone like you to assist them in producing good quality radio programs. If you know your way around studio and playout equipment, can undertake preventative and maintenance activities on that equipment, and ensure that regional standards are met, then we'd like to talk with you! We are looking for people with a heart for getting the Good News out, and a love for their colleagues who have the same goal.
Please note: This position is a supported/sponsored missionary role (not a direct hire opportunity), so you would develop a team of partners who provide financially for your full salary and benefits as a part of this role. We do provide training, resources, and coaching to help missionaries reach these financial support goals!
Our Global Broadcast Content team is looking for a missionary to serve as an Audio Technician to ensure that all equipment in the studios and playout center are being maintained according to the standards set by the Regional Engineer so that good quality FM radio programs can be produced.

- Commitment to Jesus Christ evidenced by a personal relationship
- Excitement about being involved in full-time missions and willingness to develop a team of prayer and financial partners
- Cultural sensitivity within international teams and a team spirit
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow with attention to detail
- Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair computers, radio broadcast equipment, and satellite receivers
Responsibilities:
- Repair and install broadcast equipment at various partner offices in the Africa region
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment in studios
- Source and purchase replacement parts
- Keep clear drawings of all studio and playout center wiring
- Organize and keep up to date equipment manuals
Desirable Qualifications:
- Training in Broadcasting Electronics and computers (Diploma)
- Experience in satellite receivers
- Knowledge in analogue and digital audio
- Radio broadcasting background a plus
- Willingness to travel
- Proficient in written and spoken English
