Jessica Lescano

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, here am I; send me”! (Isaiah 6:8) Here I am! He knows *US* by name! Isn’t that wonderful?

Greetings to all, I am Jessica, born in Queens New York, raised in Allentown, PA. I am honored to be a wife to Tyeson Douglas, who is “a man after God’s own heart.” I am a mother to three loving children, Corey, LeeVi and Journey. I also have the pleasure of being included in raising my bonus children.

I will be serving at TWR as a stewardship representative. Says Tim McElhaney, US Director of Stewardship Development: “I look forward to the time when Jessica will join the Stewardship Team. Jessica's life experience has prepared her to be an empathic listener. That talent is critical to providing donors not only with project choices for their global missional goals, but meaningful relational care to them as brother and sisters in ministry together. Jessica will be an asset in that realm.”

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this longing to help others—at one point I wanted to be a journalist and travel the world giving hope to many women and children. But as I got older with many trials, tragedies, and tribulations, I reached a point where I didn't know what to share with others to give them hope. My testimony is not like some others; I don't have parents that were in ministry or role models who pointed me to church. So, the day the Lord called me by my name, I knew my life had changed, forevermore, and finally I found hope, the truth! I also like to say that he came back for me; he came back for the one!

Now the desire that I have is for everyone, everywhere, to hear the Good News, to show them that our faith will get us through the storms. “You're safe, you're loved; hold on to hope and put your faith in Christ.” Everyone deserves to know this. Serving him encompasses every aspect of my life. Brothers and sisters, please surround me with your prayers as, by playing a unique role at TWR, I “go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). God Bless you.
