Role Summary
Are you looking for a way to use your hospitality skills in a ministry setting? Do you want to play a part in sharing the gospel with the nations?
This unique opportunity as Lodge Caregiver Assistant is a hands-on way to bring your heart for caregiving and the Great Commission into one! Help maintain and cultivate a hospitable home away from home for visiting international staff, partner ministries, missionaries and TWR family members.

Lodge Caregiver Assistant: Cary, North Carolina (USA)

Our Ministry Services team is looking for their latest member to help maintain a hospitable environment at our office's on-site Lodge. 

Essential functions:

  • Clean guest rooms, bathrooms and common areas
  • Launder bed linens and bath towels
  • Provide information, literature, and supplies for lodge guests
  • Help create a warm, welcoming, and hospitable environment for guests
  • Assist with shopping and purchases for the lodge
  • Assist Lodge Caregiver Manager with administrative work and being on call for guests and their needs

Non-essential functions:

  • Assist with catering functions (receiving, setting up, cleaning up) for guests and departments within the TWR Cary office as needed.
  • Assist in Ministry Services as needed.

Focus Areas: Cleaning, Laundry, Hospitality, and Shopping

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in lodging or hosting in a guest house is preferred
  • Cross-cultural experience is desired
  • Sensitivity to the needs and stresses of lodge guest who are dealing with international travel and service

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Must be able to work long hours during busy weeks and perform quick “turn arounds” of rooms
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to use cleaning supplies and equipment safely, stand for prolonged periods, use kitchen equipment safely, bend and stoop.
  • Must be able to use protective clothing, eye wear and gloves when appropriate
  • Hazards of lodge role include possible inhalation injuries from cleaning supplies and chemicals, eye injury, back, foot and hand injury, contact irritation injuriesQualifications and Core Competencies required:
  • Must speak, read, write and comprehend English fluently
  • Must be proficient in computer technology and software, i.e. Microsoft Office365
  • Must be a team player and work together with Lodge Caregiver Manager for a common goal
  • Must be hospitable and manifest a servant heart
  • Must have strong organizational skills and able to manage several projects at once
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible
  • Must be detail oriented, have patience and perseverance
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be able to cover for the Lodge Caregiver Manager during absences, including scheduling, security and purchasing of food and lodge supplies
  • Must be a born-again Christian and agree with TWR’s mission and doctrinal statement
