Short-term Missions Coordinator

By coordinating recruiting events for college students and young adults, you will play a vital role in connecting individuals with opportunities to serve and grow in their faith. With a strong focus on relationship-building and organizational skills, you will help facilitate transformative experiences, ultimately impacting lives and communities around the world.

Our HR Mobilization team is looking for a new team member to make a global impact through coordinating TWR's summer mission internship program.
Purpose and Scope of the Role:
• Support TWR’s global ministry by being a missionary representative of TWR’s work to those outside TWR and to help minister to other TWR missionaries and staff within TWR
• Mobilize and coordinate the logistics for TWR’s short-term missions’ programs so that people can experience missions to see if God is calling them to serve long-term
• Coordinate recruiting events for college students and young adults
Duties / Responsibilities: Coordinator of Short-Term Missions and College Recruiting
• Coordinate logistics and planning of college recruiting at Christian universities and technical schools (including virtual and in-person career fairs, etc.)
• Coordinate logistics and planning of large mission events (i.e. CrossCon, Urbana) that focus on college students and/or young adults
• Coordinate the support raising, housing, travel, visas, on-boarding, CRM maintenance, orientation, evaluations, debriefing, etc. for interns, short-term missionaries (including Embark candidates) and volunteers
• Create and facilitate training materials for interns and short-term workers
• Plan, coordinate, and collaborate with MarCom for social media/digital advertising
• Establish and maintain relationships with local churches (RDU area) with strong college ministries in order to share about internship and short-term opportunities
• Communicate with department heads at colleges with programs of interest • Assist in the maintenance of TWR website’s job postings as well as other online job board platforms (i.e. Handshake, ShortTermMissions.com, etc.)
• Conduct the final review all application materials for short-term workers to approve them for service
• Coordinate the registration, reservations, presentations and initial following up with contacts for assigned recruiting events
Experience:
• Ability to develop plans and schedules, monitor, and report on progress of short-term workers.
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to work most hours between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday
• May work from home on occasion and therefore must have a secure internet connection - Must be able to work outside of regular working hours at times (e.g. weekends and evenings) for events and international calls - Must be able to travel domestically alone for events on occasion
• Able to use a telephone, computer, printer, copy machine and other office equipment
• Must be able to learn and use new software and technology efficiently and effectively
• Spend long hours sitting and using office equipment, computers and attending sessions
• Hazards of the job may include eye, neck, back, arm and wrist strain
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
• Must be willing to continue to meet support requirements as set by the US Sending Agency
• Desire to serve the Lord by serving others
• Active member of an evangelical Christian church
• Committed, growing Christian aligned with TWR’s Doctrinal Statement and beliefs
• Good working knowledge of the core values, structure, and operations of TWR
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Serve several people and projects at one time and be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of staff
• Work in an environment that is busy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills
• Manage several requests and tasks at one time and deal with emergencies and stressful situations
• Flexible, willing to travel when needed
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Good relationship-building skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people
