Entering the Sound Studio: Bryson Sappington at TWR
[Estimated reading time: 3 minutes]

Bryson Sappington joins the TWR Global Content team as an intern this summer, putting his production skills towards sharing the gospel on a global scale.
North Carolina native Bryson Sappington lives just 30 minutes from TWR’s Cary office. Although he’s close to the ministry’s U.S. base of operations, he hadn’t heard of TWR before. Nevertheless, God brought Bryson to TWR, and now he’s driving in each weekday this summer to serve as an intern with the Global Content department. He is working with TWR Africa and Mission 66 with the radio broadcasts, monitoring noise levels and ensuring that everything sounds good.
After the summer, Bryson will return to the classroom as a rising junior at Liberty University studying commercial music. He can play any instrument in a worship band, although he’s most familiar with piano and guitar.
What led you to joining TWR?
I heard about TWR through Liberty University’s partnership with Handshake [an online platform promoting jobs and internships]. It came up as a recommended position, and I wanted to grow in my experience and knowledge of audio production.
What are you looking forward to while working at TWR?
I want to really learn where God wants me. I know what he wants me to do, but I just don’t know where God wants me to be. So far, I've really enjoyed the entire aspect of it. I get to work on stuff I enjoy and connect with new people. I know it’s corny, but my favorite thing may be the friends I've started making while here.
What is one of your biggest challenges this summer?
I think adjusting to a full-time work life is the biggest challenge. It is completely different from how I have worked before. With that comes trying to be social and get to know others, especially the other interns that live here.
When and how did you get interested in ministry?
I’ve never really been interested in missions before; I’ve never felt God call me to it. However, I believe he is calling me to some sort of ministry in the music industry, and I discovered that calling about two years ago. A member of my old church had told me repeatedly to not waste my gift, and I finally listened to him, which led me down this path.
How is this internship preparing you for your future?
Again, it is serving as a checkpoint for me, making sure I’m headed the right direction and doing what God wants me to do, while also learning new skills for me to take into the music industry.
Fun fact: Bryson is certified in criminal justice in North Carolina.
