We at TWR are on a mission to reach the world for Christ by mass media so that lasting fruit is produced. With a potential reach of 4 billion people worldwide, TWR uses the best tools available to share lasting hope – whether by radio, social media, podcasts or videos. 

Though it may not have crossed your mind, your proficiency with numbers makes you a leading candidate for a position in our Finance department. Mission organizations need capable professionals who can oversee the financial aspects of the ministry.

Could This Opportunity Be for You? 

You may think that a career in missions means you would need to serve as a church planter or evangelist. This couldn’t be further from the truth. God uses people of all professions on the mission field! Without vital finance staff, ministries can’t pay bills, handle payroll or conduct proper budget analysis. 

We are on the lookout for people to serve around the world at our regional offices in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Our most critical need is in West Africa, where we are looking for additional help right away. 

The qualifications are fairly straightforward: The ideal candidate will have an affinity for numbers and spreadsheets and may have bookkeeping or accounting experience. The job involves recording journal entries, balancing bank accounts, compiling annual budgets, analyzing spending patterns and producing reports. Anyone with these basic skills and a teachable spirit would be a valuable asset to our team. 

Specialized leadership roles exist throughout the ministry for those with CPAs or MBAs. These roles involve auditing; developing reports; training colleagues; handling systems support and maintenance; and providing accounting and financial guidance to team members and other leaders. 

As Chief Financial Officer Steve Hippe said, “If someone has a finance-related background, there’s probably a need in the ministry that would align with their skill set.” 

Working in finance as missions is far from boring! Serving in a large, international ministry means you will be dealing with various cultures, environments and currencies – even learning to deal biblically with different codes of ethics. No two days are the same. 

But if you are a person who prefers familiarity, and if the thought of “no two days are alike” isn’t your thing, then never fear: Some roles involve more predictable tasks, such as paying weekly bills, working on monthly payrolls and creating quarterly reports. So you will always have something comfortable to work on. 

It cannot be overstated: Finance is vital to missions! We are looking for missions-minded staff members who see themselves as playing critical roles within the global ministry of TWR, secure in the knowledge that their work directly enables the spreading of the gospel. And as with other missionaries, those serving with TWR build a team of support – in both prayer and finances – on their way to using their skills to serve the kingdom of God.
