Jehiel Ortiz Completes His First ‘Thru the Bible’ Tour

Jehiel Ortiz, U.S. Spanish Ministry development manager, reached a milestone on March 27, 2025.

That’s when Ortiz completed the recording of the introductions and closings for the full five-year cycle of the A Través de la Biblia program, a Spanish-language version of the renowned global Bible study Thru the Bible.

The U.S. Spanish Ministry, also known as RTM USA, works alongside Radio Trans Mundial, the Spanish and Portuguese version of TWR.

Thru the Bible is a program that systematically covers the entire Bible, offering listeners profound teachings about the Scriptures. Originally created by J. Vernon McGee, this program has been a key tool for Bible education in Spanish-speaking communities around the world. For Ortiz, being a part of this project has deep personal meaning, as he grew up listening to Thru the Bible alongside his family. 

The recording of such a monumental project was not without its challenges. Ortiz expressed his initial nervousness upon assuming this role, highlighting how he depended and continues to rely on God's grace through prayer to fulfill this responsibility.

With his work on Thru the Bible, Ortiz seeks to continue to be one of the many pieces that are part of the ministry, bringing this study to all people, regardless of their theological level, social status or time in the faith. These studies serve as a resource for millions of listeners in Latin America and beyond, helping them connect with God's Word in their native languages.

With its growing reach, A Través de la Biblia continues to be a key tool for equipping Hispanic churches and ministries, providing materials that deepen biblical understanding and strengthen spiritual life.

Ortiz is in the process of becoming a full-time missionary with TWR. From his beginnings as a producer of the Entre Jóvenes (Among Young People) program in 2003 to his current role as a member of RTM USA, Ortiz has dedicated much of his adult life to Christian service.

RTM USA’s mission is to provide and present the media platforms and resources available on RTM to Hispanic churches and ministries in the United States so they can reach their communities for Christ.
