TWR Media Partner Earns Broadcasting Honor

By John Lundy
Global, Radio

A TWR media ministry partner received a prestigious award for an international program.

Pennsylvania-based Heralds of Hope produces the 15-minute program Hope for Today in 19 languages.

The broadcast began in 1975 and is a featured program on stations of TWR. It’s also featured on TWR360.org, a multilingual content-on-demand website.

Heralds of Hope received the Strategic Partnership Award in the international category for 2022 from the National Religious Broadcasters for its program. The award was presented during the organization’s Christian Media Convention March 8-11 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Heralds of Hope was founded in 1967. A year later, it launched a 30-minute radio program nationally called The Voice of Hope. Hope for Today followed, beginning with an Arab-language translation. It’s also now broadcast in Russian, Mandarin and Hindi, among others.

J. Mark Horst, the ministry’s Bible teacher, noted that the program’s two weekly broadcasts get about 400 listener responses apiece.

“We do this because we have a calling to do it whether we hear those responses or not,” Horst said. “But when you hear those testimonies, it’s exciting. It’s also humbling that you've been given (this) privilege.”

The programs offer biblical perspectives on topics such as “Measuring Values” and “Why is Jesus Supreme?”

TWR nominated Heralds of Hope for the award.
