TWR Offers Imaginative, Fulfilling Resources for the Christmas Season

TWR MOTION's animators and illustrators lent their talents to the 2024 Advent Prayer Guide, providing a rich visual companionship to seasonal devotional content and people group highlights. 

If you enjoy the cultural merriment of Christmas while staying focused on the real reason for the season, TWR has several resources for you to consider.

Share Your Glow, a new book for kids, may be the perfect simple gift idea to round out that children’s shopping list or even to serve as a stocking stuffer. And with the beginning of Advent (Dec. 1) less than two weeks away – Dec. 1, to be precise – the Reach the Last Advent Prayer Guide 2024 could be a timely and uplifting gift for yourself or your family.

Produced this year by TWR, which is also known as Trans World Radio, both softcover items are generously illustrated, packed with information and inspiration, and steeped in missions.

The Advent prayer guide takes its name from the ministry’s ongoing Reach the Last campaign. Since its earliest days over seven decades ago, TWR has been called to go beyond those “in the front rows” to reach those “in the last rows” who have had little or no opportunity to hear the gospel.    

Each week of the guide begins with a compelling devotional written especially for the booklet by TWR Chief Content Officer Jon Fugler, who has published multiple volumes in his Your Life With God series, including 30 Days of Faith, 30 Days of Joy and 30 Days of Incredible Prayer. The rest of the days offer overviews of nearly a dozen people groups, telling how TWR reaches out to them and how you can pray for them. Among these groups are North Koreans, the Afar of Ethiopia, Farsi speakers of Iran and the Mongolian people.

“Freedom in Christ is knowing that we already have God’s favor through Christ’s death on the cross,” Fugler writes in one of the devotional readings. “Keeping the rules will not earn or lose God’s love for you. Instead of obeying him to earn his favor, the liberated life obeys God because of his love and favor.”

Share Your Glow is the product of a veteran TWR graphic designer Jeannine Klingbeil; a uniquely skilled summer intern, Beatrice Nwaokobia; and a highly creative volunteer, Katie Klingbeil. It’s a lively story blending real-life TWR staff members and ministry partners with fictional grade-school protagonists Ellie and Max. The youngsters meet TWR missionary Garth Kennedy, who takes them on a colorful journey around the world via magical radio waves.     

“The story is intended to spark upper-elementary kids’  imaginations and introduce them in a fun way to the excitement and potential of media missions,” said Jeannine Klingbeil, who developed Share Your Glow and designed the Advent guide. “Along the way, they learn why it is important for them to share their ‘glow’ – their growing faith – with others.”
