Isac Silvano

Isac and Helena have been in the radio ministry for over 40 years. Their ministry journey began in their native country of Angola, where Isac knew from a young age that he wanted to proclaim the gospel to his fellow countrymen. Shortly after the couple met and started dating, God blessed Isac with an opportunity to go to Seminary in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Isac and Helena went on to marry, and move to Brazil in 1975 to pursue degrees in Theology for Isac and music for Helena.

During Isac’s second year in seminary, he received an invitation from TWR Brazil to start recording a radio program in his native language, Umbundu. This program would be aired from TWR Eswatini for Angola and be used by God to fulfill Isac’s desire to proclaim the gospel to his people. After several years of producing programs from Brazil, the couple moved to the TWR mission field in Eswatini to continue their work for the next 22 years.

When it was time to leave the mission field, Isac and Helena decided to immigrate to the United States to be closer to their daughters Priscila and Djamila, and their son-in-law James and granddaughter Giselle. Though they “retired”, they were determined to keep their ministry work going.  So, with God’s help, Isac setup a small recording studio in the couple’s home. From there he once again started recording his program in Umbundu called Yeva Ondaka, aired from TWR Eswatini to Angola, as well as a devotional in Portuguese called Biblia Viva, for TWR Mozambique. Helena also began recording short devotionals for women from that studio. Isac’s plan is to pass on the ministry to the new generation in December 2026. Today, when the couple is not busy recording programs or training future radio ministry producers, they enjoy traveling and spending time with their family.
