Myanmar Disaster Response Fund

The death toll is well into the thousands after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025, causing extensive damage as far away as Bangkok, Thailand, and shaking parts of India, Bangladesh, and China. Relief efforts centered around the city of Mandalay in Myanmar are made more complicated by a divided government and destroyed infrastructure, including hospitals. Badly needed medical supplies are scarce. Where is the hope amid such destruction?
TWR ministers to natural disaster victims with radio programs that bring the hope of Jesus Christ to shattered lives. We are mobilizing these resources in Southeast Asia to minister to traumatized speakers of Burmese, the official language of Myanmar. Our relief ministry will begin with distributing about 200 packages of emergency supplies to our TWR listener families, along with a radio for each family. The Hope Prevails radio program, first developed by our staff in Indonesia, will follow in a few months. This program was broadcast to those affected by the devastating 2006 tsunami in Southeast Asia and was later revised in 2023 to bring hope and healing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
TWR’s trauma healing programs provide comforting episodes filled with Scripture that help listeners reflect on their trauma, hear about the healing love of God, and have the opportunity to follow Jesus. For many of those affected, it might be the only source of badly needed counseling they ever get. If you would like to join TWR in this expression of God’s love through relief supplies and the Hope Prevails trauma healing program, we welcome your partnership!
