Technical Services Director for West Africa

The individual who fills this role will support TWR’s global ministry by being a missionary representative of TWR’s work to those outside TWR and to help minister to other TWR missionaries and staff within TWR. The Technical Services Director for West Africa shall assist the CTO in leading and guiding technical activities within the assigned geographic region to support and enable ministry operations and objectives as well as be positioned in Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) to provide opportunities for leadership, oversight and hands on support to technical operations of TWR in Côte d'Ivoire as well as local leadership and ministry partners.

Our Global Technical Services is seeking a new team member to serve as Technical Services Director for West Africa.

- Use necessary software and hardware systems to support TWR’s overall strategic vision
Responsibilities:
- Technical Staff Management including:
- Servant Leadership; developing an environment of trust and transparency and maintaining healthy staffing.
- Being an advocate for staff personally and professionally
- Initiating staff’s participation in courses, conferences, seminars and webinars to ensure professional development
- Encouragement of staff within their roles and purpose o Conduct annual performance reviews and have regular face to face meetings to ensure improvement, growth and accountability
- Project Management
- Apply appropriate project management methods to all technical department initiatives
- Ensure project documentation is correctly filed and completed to an appropriate standard agreement
- Budgeting
- Develop and manage an annual technical and project budget, keeping exponentiators within authorized limits
- Plan for future budget changes and work with leadership to ensure proper visibility into these changes
- Engineering
- Lead and oversee the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and repairs of all technical systems
- Maintain cost effective uptime of TWR’s broadcast infrastructure in Côte d'Ivoire
- Provide guidance to station director and maintenance director to ensure proper maintenance of systems
- IT/IS
- Assist with software updates o Document modifications, upgrades, and patches to computers
- Confirm license and usage compliance
- Coordinate annual replacement of EOL systems with minimal disruptions in operations
- Ensure safety and effectiveness in user’s workstations and related systems
- Participate with team in resolving end- user issues
- Oversee user requested projects as assigned by Director of Information Systems and Technology
- Use the helpdesk system for tracking open tickets, resolving the case, and closing the tickets in a satisfactory and timely fashion
- Advocate for resources and SME assistance as needed to ensure correct operation of TWR’s IT systems
Desirable qualifications:
- French speaker
- IT / IS experience
- Digital media experience
- Project Management experience
- Good administrative skills
