Amid instability, radio remains a reliable tool to proclaim the gospel, encourage believers, respond with compassion and prepare strategically for future opportunities.

The situation in Iran has escalated rapidly in recent days, with events unfolding so quickly that it is often difficult to keep track. To better understand how Christians are faring and how radio programs are reaching them, we spoke with our Iran expert from Persian World Radio

Radio Provides Hope Amid Uncertainty

Radio continues to be a resilient, borderless medium that brings the message of Christ into homes despite political and technological barriers. Medium-wave remains the most reliable way to reach audiences, as internet access is often unstable or restricted. We are continuing our digital outreach as well and receive feedback from listeners, mainly from diaspora but also from within Iran.

In the country, hope arises when signs of change or solidarity appear, while fear grows during internet shutdowns, violence or political uncertainty. Many Iranians also experience emotional fatigue after prolonged instability. Amidst this complex emotional atmosphere, our programming focuses on spiritual grounding rather than political outcomes. Every broadcast emphasizes God’s care, integrates prayer and shares real-life testimonies to show that Christ remains present even in hardship.

Program content also addresses current challenges, including fear, loss and resilience, with special attention to women and mothers through the Women of Hope program. Live broadcasts allow immediate engagement, and diaspora members can send messages to families in Iran, creating meaningful moments of unity.

Through radio, listeners are reminded that God does not abandon His people, that darkness does not prevail over His purposes and that the future of Iran ultimately rests in His hands. Even while grieving for the nation’s suffering, the ministry remains steadfast in proclaiming God’s promises. The message is not about religious ritual but about inviting individuals into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, emphasizing direct access to God, spiritual freedom, and transformative faith.

Listeners Respond

In response, we are receiving many messages from listeners, thanking us for the programs and asking for prayer and blessings. While the exact number of medium-wave (MW/AM) listeners is hard to determine, calls confirm audiences are listening not only from Iran but also from Afghanistan and Azerbaijan. Digital radio allows us to measure our audience more precisely.

Listener feedback ensures our content remains relevant, accurate and pastorally sensitive; what’s more, it’s showing that the mood among many Iranians has shifted. One listener noted that his sister, previously very loyal to the government, now speaks with hope about the future and believes freedom is possible. Another listener, imprisoned for over 13 years, shared that hearing messages like “God does not leave us alone” has given him strength and comfort. Across response from listeners, one message stands out: the great hope and confidence in God’s faithfulness and the unity of the Iranian people.

Looking Ahead

If instability continues, families may face shortages of food, hygiene products and medical care. In this context, the ministry combines spiritual encouragement with practical compassion. Plans are underway to establish a dedicated radio station in Iran when conditions allow, including strategic planning, infrastructure development, and financial preparation.

Amid instability, radio remains a reliable tool to proclaim the gospel, encourage believers, respond with compassion and prepare strategically for future opportunities. Your prayer and financial partnership are essential as the ministry serves during this critical hour. Would you join us in reaching the people of Iran with the good news of Jesus Christ?
