Hope is within reach for the people of Nigeria, even in the face of enormous spiritual and economic challenges. Through its partner, TWR Nigeria, and ministries such as Every Man A
Warrior (EMAW), TWR is helping to bring that hope within reach. But the fuel for hope is prayer.

“Please pray for our church family and those being persecuted in Nigeria and across Africa,” said Wayne Craig, Africa continental director for EMAW. “We also ask you to pray for an army of prayer warriors to cover this desperately needed work in prayer.”

To help guide our prayer, here are some specifics mentioned by our friends in Nigeria.

Joshua Irondi, director of TWR Nigeria and of EMAW in Nigeria:
  • We need prayers that the hearts of men will be open to hear the Word.
  • We need prayers that the government will truly play its role in protecting the lives of citizens against attackers.
  • We ask for prayers that the Lord will send resources to enable us to do more and reach more people for the kingdom.
  • Thank God and pray for the missionaries, the “foot soldiers in the north,” who minister to people in that region in the midst of great challenges.
  • Pray that people in other regions of Nigeria would stand strong, follow the example of the believers in the north and draw closer to the Lord.
  • Pray for those traveling in Nigeria as they face danger on the roads. Ask for the Lord’s protection.
  • May God “turn things around in this nation. I believe the nation is going to sing a new song.”

Pastor Mark Mukan, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria:
  • Pray that believers would be able to stand in the face of these challenges.

From
the Nigeria Evangelical Missions Association:
  • Pray for the shalom of the Lord in our land. Shalom is not the absence of war. Biblical shalom is peace even in the midst of war.
  • Ask God to grant forgiving hearts. People have really been hurt with all of these issues happening.
  • Ask God to help our government, our leaders.
