Delivering Hope for Unreached People in Russia

Of the 5.7 million Tatar people worldwide, only 2.58% know Jesus, but TWR is endeavoring to reach them and others like them for Christ.

 

When it comes to reaching out to people in Russia and Ukraine, considerable emphasis has centered on those suffering and feeling the direct impact of the war. But TWR is also reaching out with the hope of Jesus Christ to those in lesser-known areas such as Ossetia, Krasnodr and Tatarstan where many profess faith in Islam. 

TWR has ministry friends in these areas within the North Caucasus region of Russia, and they have been diligently working to develop Scripture-centric content and distribute it locally. We have seen God bless their work in these Muslim-background communities, and the Lord is reaching their hearts with the transforming truth of Jesus Christ.  

“Our goal is to expand our influence on these people and use any possible means to reach them with the gospel,” says one of the workers associated with TWR. “We thank the Lord that he opens doors and expands our ministry.” 

Outreach efforts include radio, face-to-face interactions and social media channels like Instagram and Telagram, which offers a level of privacy for people to engage with other Christians and, ultimately, commit to following Christ.  

Professions of faith in Christ have risen, prayer requests have increased and printed Bibles have been distributed. In addition, social media interaction has increased dramatically, leading to a steady number of listeners. 

“Between July and December of 2024, 752 pieces of gospel content generated 8,600 media plays and led to 60 personal prayer encounters which demonstrates the effectiveness of consistent Scripture-rich storytelling,” says a trusted ministry fried in the region.  

As TWR seeks to expand the reach of the gospel in these regions, it is clear there is a hunger for Bibles, to increase the content on social media and develop further the personal interactions on the ground.
