Five Ways to Pray for the Afar People

Of the 2.85 million Afar people in Ethiopia and around the world, only 0.01% know Jesus. How can you pray for the Afar people? Here are five suggestions from the experts we consulted:
1. Salvation
Pray that many more Afar people will come to know God’s Word and, through that, also know Isa al-Masih – Jesus the Christ.
2. Protection for believers
Pray for God’s protection around Ali Ibrahim and other Afar believers from those who would try to destroy the message of God’s grace.
3. Transportation and ministry
Pray that Ali Ibrahim would have the means of transportation to reach the Afar region and the ability to pay for it.
4. Laborers for the harvest
Ask that the Father will provide more laborers for the Afar harvest, including Bible distributors and Christian development organizations.
5. Relief from drought
Joshua Project reports that the Afar in the Danakil Depression have suffered from drought and famines. Pray for pure water sources for the Afar and their herds.
