Quick Summary: Norea Sweden, a TWR partner based near Helsingborg, grew from a one-person office to a four-person team in 12 months and reached 2.5 million social media views on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. Director Martin Stridhammar says interest in Jesus and the Bible is rising among Swedes ages 14 to 29, just as Norea increased its output. With Sweden’s denominations declaring 2027 “The Year of the Bible,” Norea plans to expand its content to support the national push.

When God the Holy Spirit decides to move in a powerful way, there is nothing that can stop him. Martin Stridhammar is bearing testimony to that eternal truth at Norea Sweden. Partnering with TWR, Norea Sweden has gone from the brink of closure to a thriving ministry in the space of just 12 months.
Based just outside Helsingborg, across The Sound from Denmark, the Norea Sweden office was founded 30 years ago. It was a one-man operation when Stridhammar took over the helm in August 2025. In that short time, he has brought the workforce up to four with a band of volunteers producing a great amount of social media content across Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. The team has achieved 2.5 million views in 12 months.
Young Swedes turn to Scripture on social media
Stridhammar, married with three children, said he believes God’s timing is clear: Interest in Jesus and the Bible has dramatically spiked in Sweden just as the social media output from Norea has increased. The demographic between 14 and 29 years old are, in particular, engaging with the biblical content.
“When I was told what this job would be like I just thought, ‘This is my dream job,’ and I just can’t believe how God has blessed us over the past year,” Stridhammar said. “We hired Esther, who is an expert in social media, and she has been doing some great work. Now we have four members, and we are producing content online three to four times a week, and we are seeing the hunger that young people have for Jesus.
“Facebook has an older demographic, and it’s interesting that when we do short videos, simply reading a few verses of Scripture, that we have an incredible response. Recently, one had 25,000 responses, and whether people love the verses or have something negative to say, the Word keeps going out to new people. Scripture is dynamite for this world. We now have close to 3,000 followers on Instagram, 1,400 on Facebook and 1,600 on TikTok, and those numbers are growing all the time.”
Sweden prepares for 2027’s “Year of the Bible”
Stridhammar and Norea are also excited about the news that the various denominations in Sweden have come together to declare 2027 “The Year of the Bible.” Such has been the spike in sales of the Bible that it has led to a unified evangelical drive across the country.
“We have this huge book fair every year in Gothenburg, and the main book this year and main headline was the Bible!” Stridhammar said, referring to the Gothenburg Book Fair, the largest such event among Nordic countries. The first new Swedish translation of the New Testament since 1981 was released at that event, commemorating 500 years since publication of the original Swedish New Testament.
“So now the churches have come together to advocate the reading of the New Testament together, and there will be a big push in 2027, and we at Norea want to make sure that we are playing our part with the content we will be producing,” Stridhammar continued.
“We would ask for prayerful support, that many hearts and minds would be open to the teaching of Jesus and that God would continue to bless us with even greater numbers engaging with our content across the three platforms. We are very thankful for all the support we receive.”
