Writer and Communications Specialist

The Writer and Communications Specialist will work to enhance TWR’s communication among staff and partners. Specific duties include writing interesting, ministry-specific articles such as deep dives, listener stories, country/people group profiles, interviews, ministry overviews, special project proposals and reports, ministry catalogues, magazine articles, social media copy, website articles, etc. Other duties include editing pieces written by other staff and collaborating with other regional and global Marcom team members as needed.
Please note: This position is a supported/sponsored missionary role (not a direct hire opportunity), so the approved candidate would need to develop a team of partners to provide financially for their full salary and benefits. Our Marcom and Donor Services team is seeking a Writer and Communications specialist to help tell the story of God's work through TWR.
Responsibilities:
Writing:
- Select, alter, recommend, and write content suitable for all TWR publications including Donor Services proposals and reports
- Research and write for publications and web including donor funded projects
- Review ministry reports to discover interesting stories and details that can be expanded into other pieces or publications
- Assist with copywriting for web, social media, and newsletter publications
- Conduct interviews (Zoom, phone, or in person) for publication purposes
Editing:
- Review publications for security authorization (requires a thorough understanding of internal security procedures)
- Edit publications and PR materials (magazines, brochures, newsletters, prayer initiatives, stories for the web, etc.) and Donor Services proposals and reports Administration
- Develop a working proficiency of computer hardware, application software, email, etc.
- Navigate the Internet, TWR SharePoint sites and other sources to obtain and utilize available information
- Collaborate with other regional and global Marcom team members according to editorial calendar(s)
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, creative writing, English Language, or a related field.
- Equivalent relevant experience also will be considered.
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions are standard for an office environment, but must be able to work flexible work hours, including occasional evenings and weekends based on occasional events our team is engaged in (e.g. National Partner Conference, Webinar).
- Must be able to travel, including overnight stays

- Competent editing and writing skills in English, as well as computer application skills
