Five Ways You Can Pray for Karakalpak Speakers
[Estimated reading time: 2 minutes]

Karakalpak is the official language of Karakalpakstan, an autonomous republic within Uzbekistan. Speakers elsewhere mostly live in Islamic regions, where life can be challenging for Christians. Recently, there has been further tightening of legislation in many Karakalpak-speaking countries, making ministry more difficult and the road for the saints more treacherous.
1. Pray that media overcomes barriers to the gospel.
Pray that the TWR Central Asian team, and TWR more widely, can effectively use media to share the gospel. Pray that the messages and points made are clear and that equipment and software successfully fulfill the required tasks of transmitting gospel truths.
2. Pray for the softening of leaders' hearts.
Life is often difficult for churches and Christian groups. This may include a complete ban on Christian worship or a requirement to adhere to certain rules regarding religion. Pray that God would bring about relief in this area and that Christians may enjoy greater freedoms.
3. Pray for open hearts to God’s Word.
A combination of historical factors has led Karakalpak speakers in Uzbekistan and elsewhere to harden to the gospel. Pray that God can open their hearts so they can recognize the freedom of Christ.
4. Pray for families and translators involved in work.
Families from the Central Asian region help with the translation and preparation of Karakalpak content. Pray that God would watch over and preserve them, that they may know his peace which “transcends all understanding” (Phil 4:7 NIV).
5. Pray for the TWR Central Asian ministry.
Pray for the Central Asian team more widely, that in their faithful ministry they may know his life-giving power and be guided by the Holy Spirit.
