How a Children's Radio Program Is Planting Seeds of Faith Across Cambodia
For over two decades, TWR Cambodia's Happy Children's Garden has been sharing the gospel with Cambodian children through weekly radio broadcasts and social media. Reaching more than 1,500 listeners across 28 children's groups, the 15-minute program equips local pastors like Meon to teach God's Word — even across language and cultural barriers.

More than 1,500 Cambodian children across 28 groups are hearing the gospel each week through Happy Children's Garden.
Meon, the pastor of a small home church in Cambodia, has been using TWR Cambodia’s Happy Children’s Garden (HCG) broadcast as curriculum in his ministry every week for more than six years. “The Happy Children’s Garden program helps me a lot because I can use it for children at Sunday School, and I don't need much time to prepare the lesson,” he shared. “We learn a lot about God's Word and strengthen our faith in him. All the children love to listen as well.”
Since Meon hails from a minority ethnic group, he struggles with his level of fluency in Khmer, the primary language of Cambodia. “Sometimes it is a bit difficult for me to understand due to the language barrier. That's why I need to listen first and make sure that I understand the message well before I play the program for the children," he explained. Meon not only leads the children in listening to HCG but also holds monthly quizzes using the program content.
Two Decades of Hope for Cambodian Children
Airing weekly over 11 FM stations, and posted on TWR Cambodia’s Facebook page, the 15-minute Happy Children’s Garden Bible story program is making an impact across Cambodia. Through the broadcasts, children learn worship songs as well as a variety of lessons about biblical history, customs, culture and geography of the Holy Land. TWR Cambodia currently ministers to more than 1,500 listeners in 28 children’s groups across the country.
"Thank God for the Happy Children’s Garden program that assists me,” said Meon, who faithfully sends pictures and updates about his work with his church to our ministry team in Cambodia. “I also invite my children and church members to pray for TWR to have more funding support. We want to meet the HCG team again [when they visit] our village. It is truly encouraging for my church members to see them."
For more than two decades, Happy Children’s Garden has been providing hope within reach of thousands of Cambodian children, and radio has proved a vital means of sharing the gospel in this primarily oral culture. Consider joining with TWR in this ministry to help Meon, and other Cambodian Christians, continue pointing the next generation toward Christ.
